These cattle, grazing in the field on the New South Wales-Queensland border regions, followed each other around the paddock, hence the title 'Cattle Train'. I was fascinated, not only by the way they related to each other, but also by their colour in the sunlight. Their hide was a rich brown/red with violet undertones which I have tried to capture in this work.
