I was inspired by the objects and places near me during a COVID 19 Lockdown. I wanted to play with conventional ideas of a still life by including more background to the overall image and the technique is just the simplest way to paint what I saw. The colours are a bit exaggerated to have a pastel aesthetic look..

An emerging visual artist born in South Korea, immigrated to and grew up in New Zealand and now based in Sydney, Australia. Reflecting these changes in environment Kevin's practice is concerned with portraying places he has often visited in a interpretative way using traditional painting techniques in oil, acrylic and watercolour. He seeks to capture the beauty contained in the natural landscapes and in still life objects 'on site' to convey the visual zeitgeist.
