During the COVID lock-down I was inspired by the spaces and objects around me so I decided to paint an interior space with furniture and objects in my room. I was concerned with portraying the form of these objects and the background in a simple manner and was drawn to the aesthetics the light and shadows created. In the image heavy and consumerist society we live in, I find painting still life a good antidote

An emerging visual artist born in South Korea, immigrated to and grew up in New Zealand and now based in Sydney, Australia. Reflecting these changes in environment Kevin's practice is concerned with portraying places he has often visited in a interpretative way using traditional painting techniques in oil, acrylic and watercolour. He seeks to capture the beauty contained in the natural landscapes and in still life objects 'on site' to convey the visual zeitgeist.
