This work was inspired by memories of my grandparent's pet bird and old furniture. The photo I took while I visited them in Korea was used as a reference. The colours are changed from the original to make it look more contemporary and timeless.

An emerging visual artist born in South Korea, immigrated to and grew up in New Zealand and now based in Sydney, Australia. Reflecting these changes in environment Kevin's practice is concerned with portraying places he has often visited in a interpretative way using traditional painting techniques in oil, acrylic and watercolour. He seeks to capture the beauty contained in the natural landscapes and in still life objects 'on site' to convey the visual zeitgeist.
