The realm of covered sheets

I was inspired by the hidden beauty of the drop sheets and the covered parts of the floor. The textures, light and the forms create a dual meaning of presence and absence which may appeal to people who would like a painting that is both nice to look at and has a deeper meaning.

An emerging visual artist born in South Korea, immigrated to and grew up in New Zealand and now based in Sydney, Australia. Reflecting these changes in environment Kevin's practice is concerned with portraying places he has often visited in a interpretative way using traditional painting techniques in oil, acrylic and watercolour. He seeks to capture the beauty contained in the natural landscapes and in still life objects 'on site' to convey the visual zeitgeist.
