Artwork Description

In Soul Eclipse, the face emerges from shadow rather than sitting within it. One eye is awake, illuminated, aware... the other still dissolving into darkness. The figure exists in a threshold moment: not broken, not healed, but becoming.
Painted during a period of deep inner transformation, this work reflects the experience of moving through emotional night into conscious light. The obscured half carries the weight of grief, confusion and contraction; the revealed half holds presence, softness and recognition. Together they form a single being... evidence that darkness does not disappear when we heal, it integrates.
The eclipse becomes a metaphor for the psyche: light temporarily hidden, never lost. What appears haunting is actually tender... the moment the self witnesses itself again after forgetting.
This piece speaks to rebirth, to the quiet courage of surviving oneself, and to the rediscovery of love not as something found externally, but as something remembered internally.
Soul Eclipse is not about escaping shadow... it is about learning to see within it.

Artist Bio

Coming from a family of artists of all shapes and sizes, I have had the burning desire to be creating since I can remember.

I'm one of the very few people who was born, raised and still resides on the Gold Coast in Queensland,
I am an artist. I'm an intuitive. I write, I paint, I draw, I take photos, I love music.

My father was a musician, mum was a sign writer, my great grandfathers George Wallace Snr and George Wallace Jnr were very well known Australian comedians back in their time and both very talented artists and cartoonists. You could say its just in my blood.

I was the kid who didn't really see school as much of anything but a social activity and used my diary mainly for doodling and sketching and testing out my newest watercolours or posca pens.
Art was my favourite subject. After school, I became a Graphic Designer and worked in that industry all the way up until today at the ripe age of 45 (still doing it freelance).

Only in the last few years have I decided that all this passion for creating has to start translating onto the canvas again.

As a mum now, I watch my little boy and see how his imagination takes him to magical places (which we seem to lose as we grow up)... and I want him to see his mummy doing something that she truly loves. I have learnt from him that creating things for pure enjoyment and happiness is what life is all about.

So here we are... back to the roots of what I love.
All of my artworks have a little written harmony of words on the back of the canvas too.
I love a little lyric or poem to deepen the story of my pieces.

Oh... and I also have a few guardian angels egging me on... I pay great attention to my spirit guides and this is definitely what I should be doing!
I hope you like what you see.

Big love... Keyna xxo
