The painting was inspired when I admired a hibiscus in my garden in flower, surrounded by smaller pentas flowers. Modelling paste has been used to make the hibiscus stand out from the canvas.
I am a hobby artist who enjoys painting in a realist style. Living on the coast‚ I am frequently inspired by seascapes or other landscapes involving water. In particular‚ I love the way light reflects off water‚ and this is often featured in my paintings.
