Being creative has always been a constant in my life, whether it be through photography, interior design, creating gardens and of course, painting canvases. I have always lived by the coast however, I never fail to be impressed by the many moods that a coastal or country scene can produce. I am mostly self taught and have used several mediums but am currently exploring the versatility of Acrylics.
Travelling and photographing the wide, open vistas and coastal panoramas of our country provide endless inspiration and subject material for my paintings. My bright and vivid colour palette is an expression of the energy and passion I feel about each painting I create, hoping to engage the viewer on an emotional level, whether through brushstrokes, the sculptural quality of palette knife marks, or simply the image itself.
My aim is to uplift the spirits and bring a sense of joy and/or recognition to the viewer. The love of colour evident in my work also compliments my other passion as a Colour Consultant, assisting clients with colour schemes for the interiors and exteriors of residential and commercial properties.
