When Samantha stared into her hand mirror she saw natural beauty reflecting back at her. Samantha is preparing for a night out with friends. Richard might be there too and she wants to look her best. She speaks confidently to herself as she applies her lipstick. Her look is perfection.

Portraiture artist who recently rediscovered the love of the paint brush.

I grew up in Sydney in a family of creative minds - musical and artistic. I found a passion for both in my teens and couldn’t image a day without drawing portraits or playing instruments. I completed 3 Unit Art for my HSC with my major artwork receiving a score of 49/50.

But as study and a serious career took over my time, my art took a backseat position. I continued to sketch on commissions and then finally found the confidence to pick up the paint brush again and I haven’t looked back.

I’m intrigued by detail (both simple and complex) in faces and by the way colours can compliment one another.

I’m absolutely loving using vibrant colours again after many years of black and white sketches.
