Artwork Description

My family and I lived in London for may years. I loved to watch the poppies grow each spring. This lino print is of the poppies that grew in my back garden in London. I enjoy using interesting pictures and maps as backgrounds for my lino prints. I hope you enjoy 'Poppy'.

Artist Bio

‘Created to Create’ Kim has a strong faith in God and enjoys the beauty around her, both in nature and manmade structures. Kim has always enjoyed creating her own original art. It wasn’t until Kim attended teacher’s college that she discovered printmaking and found her preferred artform. Kim and her husband lived in London for many years and this is where Kim studied printmaking for five years. Kim uses the many photos she has taken on her travels as inspiration for her art work. She works mainly with lino but also works with etchings, lithographs, monoprints, collagraphs and screen printing.
One of Kim’s favourite techniques is reduction lino printing. Kim loves the unique look that printmaking creates in her artworks.
In 2023, at the Brookfield show, Kim was awarded First Prize and Best in Show for her artwork.
