Artwork Description

Drawing on stretched canvas, ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

'The Identity of the future is a completely smooth, featureless,
beautiful sphere, like a pearl that formed inside an oyster that is
also itself (2020)' was a part of Kim Hyunji's recent exhibition in Melbourne, 'Feedback Lo0P'.
The title was inspired by her peer Will Rigney's poem.
Through this artwork, Kim aimed to investigate the affects that social media has on the way we present ourselves in contemporary society. Kim used found images from social media as a source for this artwork. She collaged the photos she found on Instagram and created a scene of people, gathered in the park, posing for pictures. Full installation set also available by request.
