Even while mantaining an all consuming 30 year career in NSW Police I always pursed my painting and drawing. I worked in such areas as Sexual Assalt, Homicide, and Child Protection and Gang Squads. I finished my career as a Detective Superintendent and was awarded the Australian Police Medal for distinguished service. However if you were to ask me during this period how I saw myself, I worked as a Major Crime Squad Detective but was an Artist at my core.
I trained in water colour painting through community colleges such as Willandra at Ryde. When I retired from policing I threw myself into training at the Julian Ashton Art School and developed my draughtmanship and oil painting skills. Since then I have been painting out of my incredible art studio at our property in Bellingen, or Manly Sydney or from the places our yacht White Wave 111 takes me. I am part of the local Bellingen Art scene and starting up a Gallery from our property which will support my workshops which are run like the Old Masters Atelier.
