Artwork Description

Chorus by Kiran Mehta

This work celebrates difference as something that strengthens harmony. Each bloom keeps its own shape, color, and energy, while together they create a shared rhythm. The painting welcomes abundance and closeness, suggesting a space where everybody belongs. Like multicultural communities, its vitality comes from exchange, coexistence, and the beauty of many traditions growing side by side.

Artist Bio

I am a Canberra-based artist creating contemporary impressionistic works inspired by colour, nature, and emotional resilience. My practice is deeply intuitive, drawing on bold, luminous hues influenced by my Indian heritage and the expansive Australian landscape.

My artistic journey began as a form of healing during a transformative period in my life, where painting became both refuge and expression. Through layered textures, organic mark making, and expressive brushstrokes, my work explores themes of joy, spirituality, and connection to the natural world.

I work across multiple mediums including acrylics, oil pastels, charcoal, and inks, allowing each piece to evolve through experimentation and instinct. I often begin with a prayer or affirmation, embedding intention into the surface of the canvas. My aim is to create immersive works that invite reflection, warmth, and a quiet sense of uplift.
