This painting was mainly an exploration of colour and shape. I was interested in creating a landscape that feels recognisable but is also abstracted through bold colours, simplified forms and expressive brushwork. I experimented with different combinations of colour and overlapping shapes to create depth and movement across the landscape. The painting developed intuitively as I worked, with the colours and forms changing and building on each other rather than following a set plan.
