Artwork Description

In Tibetan Buddhism the mandala is symbolic of a special place in the universe upon which to focus the mind in a state of meditation, the purpose is to enlighten the mind and heal the soul. My Australian mandala represents the the spirit and energy of our native land. Each Mandala has a particular focus. Autumn Mandala is a time of calmness, nurturing and collecting energy.

As a piece of art there is a strong tie to my graphic design background. The painting stands as an iconic image able to be viewed from each side, working as a whole. The colours are warm and soothing the images and detail sumptuous. This painting is one of a series of original and unique Australian mandala paintings, painted in acrylic, varnished and stretched over a pine frame. it has four rear strings ready for hanging from any side.
