Artwork Description

The last supper was inspired by the horrendous "black summer" bush fires of 2019. During this time over 100 fires burnt an estimated 46 million acres. As well as the loss of human life our Australian animals paid a massive price with an estimated number of 3 billion affected. Some endangered species are believed to now be extinct. Historically this event has such significance that I felt an appropriate artistic analogy was Leonardo Da Vincis painting of The last supper. There is a profound spiritual symbolism in this painting and I felt that this was the most appropriate way to express the devastation we all felt as we watched Australia burn.
