Original Artwork's Description

This large statement piece is an original painting, collage on board and framed with pine. The alternate title to this piece is "No more heroes". It was initially inspired by a comment from a former Us president who said "their no angels". He could have added their no angels either. The comment led me to contemplate the lines between good and bad and I realised that in these times those distinctions can be very blurred. This point was reinforced a little time later with the revelation of the investigation of war crimes within the Australian SAS.
I wonder how to keep faith in our heroes. How to avoid cynicism.
Ultimately a hero is an individual, not a mob, not a nation and not an army. We must all fight our own battles and look to the hero we might find in ourselves.
