Kirsty Drechsler Art started with art submissions to a graphic design course. Drawing then become my passion. I am self taught and I always doodled and did craft as a child. My mother painted and did craft when I was growing up, so i was always doing something creative with her.
A client approached me to do a commission for them when they saw my work. Then as I slowly revealed more of my work, people were asking for prints to purchase.
So from selling my art at markets stalls and face book came various other amazing avenues to show people my art.
Favourite mediums I use in my work are watercolour, graphite, soft pastel, coloured pencil, and of course I have to try and add a special touch with foils.
My inspiration comes from the Australian flora around me that I capture on my travels, which I incorporate into my work
.The Vintage/Retro era, I am also inspired by, these paintings are cheeky and sassy! Mermaids and skull art is also special to me.
I love researching Greek mythology to find out stories and names for my pieces.I love searching for beautiful poems and quotes to reflect what I feel each piece means to me.
My creations are pieces of my heart, and I hope you enjoy them too! Kirsty β₯
