Artwork Description

Charles Darwin said ‘It is not the strongest that survives, nor the most intelligent. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.’
That idea resonates deeply with me. Quite often what we see is a collision
between wildlife and domestic life… between nature and agriculture… between living creatures and the machinery shaping our world. As we push further into their spaces, adaptation becomes not a choice, but a necessity.
The two swans in this series, 'Adaptation' and 'Swanlit Aurora' are bathed in otherworldly turmoil, in a world they no longer recognise. It swirls around them while they do their best to adapt, yet all the while, they keep their grace, elegance and dignity.
