Kyrie is a queer, emerging mixed-media artist based in Sydney, Australia. They utilise a range of mediums and are currently working in acrylics and pastels. Their work features elements of abstraction and impressionism as they believe in working spontaneously and subjectively, using their immediate mood and music to influence the colours and styles of each work. The subject matter often ranges from pure abstract to simplified figures, as they are interested in gender neutrality, ambiguity and androgyny. Kyrie is heavily influenced by Wassily Kandinsky, Odilon Redon, Claude Monet and Giovanni Boldini.
In 2012 they achieved a Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Film and Digital Art and continued to develop their skills in digital illustration and 2D animation using Photoshop and 2D TVPaint Animation respectively. They then went on to complete a Diploma in Production Art Department at TAFE and then a one year painting course at FFOCUS Arts, an independent art school.
Their practice took slight a detour when they worked at an art and craft store. After accumulating an impressive trove of mediums, brushes, papers, and more, they then tried two art studios in Sydney before pursuing their practice from home during the pandemic. They sign their works as "KR" or "KNR"
