Artwork Description

Paradise in Red is my second work in this 'Paradise' series combining my love for landscapes and my abstract style of painting. I like to try out new methods and ideas in my works, and this one is a culmination of many of my unique abstract techniques and my use of mixed media markings (charcoal and pastels). This piece was created from my imagination and inspired by the natural landscapes around me.
With its' vibrant colours, unexpected lines, and some unusual forms, the mood of this painting is expressive, energetic and echoes a walk through an imaginary landscape.
This piece is shown with a frame as an option but does not come with a frame but is ready to hang. It is sealed with a gloss varnish on high quality canvas and signed on the front and back. This work comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
This artwork can add intrigue, complexity and vibrance to any large room. Enjoy!

Artist Bio

Kitty moved to Australia over a twenty years ago from Chicago and ever since then the natural beauty, colours and experiences of the country have inspired her to create works of art that are interpretations of these elements.
Her style is abstract but contains representations of landscapes, sunsets, beaches and nature. Kitty is an emotional painter and once the painting is completed it takes on a life, beauty and story of its own and is open to a personal interpretation from the viewer. She endeavours to keep a mindful approach to painting – that the creative process is as important as the finished work.
Kitty paints with acrylics and adds charcoal, oil pastels and sometimes some textured medium like glass beads or sand. She uses water to manipulate the paint and create natural abstract formations.
Growing up in Rochester, New York and attending the University of Rochester, Kitty received a bachelor’s degree in art history. She was lucky enough to spend time in New York City where she interned at an art gallery in the East Village. During this time, she studied contemporary art and was exposed to many different artists and their NY studios. This was a huge influence on her passion for creativity, art and artists.
To get the creative juices flowing, Kitty likes to connect with people and places and get inspired by their stories and energy.
So, have a look and enjoy….
