Artwork Description

Oh Joy! is one of my spontaneous creations which began as colour blobs placed on the canvas. I then tilted the canvas and literally went with the flow. It was liberating and I thoroughly enjoyed the process. Gradually I formed the flowers around the shapes and was extremely thrilled with the result.
Bright, cheery and a reminder that going with the flow can set you free. You don't always have to have set plans.
Hope you enjoy this painting and the story behind it.

Katy K is a Sydney based artist who has been painting since she was in pigtails. Her love for all things creative, colourful and crafty only grew with the years. She has won many awards, sold many paintings, taught Art for decades , attended many courses .... but her proudest achievement (other than her two sons) is the fact that she is self-taught. Paint, sweat and tears and the classic ..... practise, practise, practise.
Katy K believes EVERYONE has a creative chip in them. Everyone. And wishes they would just allow themselves to give art a chance :)
While watercolours is her first love, she is now equally friendly with acrylics. And while she is besotted with flowers, her subject matter ranges depending on her mood. But one thing stays constant .... her paintings are always impulsive. And every now and then if you're lucky enough .... you will get a chance to purchase one of her quirkier creations.

Katy K is a member of Ku Ring Gai Art Society and Lane Cove Art Society, Sydney.
