Echidna expressway

This work was inspired by the echidna I saw on my drive home one day, as well as the beauty of the fields in front of the mountains in Tasmania. It is a fun, colourful and whimsical piece showing cute, wandering animals in stunning surrounds. I wanted to include texture as well as shape in different ways and use vibrant colours and lines to create the mountain and flowing field.

Kristen is an emerging artist working in mostly acrylic and mixed media. She finds connection and peace in creativity and uses her art as a form of therapy to help alleviate her symptoms of PTSD. Kristen is self taught, experimenting with different textures and flow in her pieces. Finding inspiration from her beautiful home in Tasmania, she works in landscape, animals, abstract and whimsical art forms. Recently displayed in Launceston and taking part in the Incognito Art Show in 2026, Kristen is developing her portfolio substantially this year. Colour, character and light fill her art and hopefully these pieces find a way to do the same for your home!
