In Louisita, a figure emerges with dark, elegant features—her presence both grounded and ethereal. Painted in soft, neutral tones and bold blocks of colour, she stands as a quiet testament to identity and heritage. A subtle nod to Sicilian roots hums beneath the surface, in the shadows of her gaze, the curve of her silhouette. Named after the endearing name given by the artist’s Nonna to her sister, this piece speaks in the language of memory and silent strength. She does not need to speak to be heard.

Kristina Fontana is a FIFO wife, mother of three, Artist and Workshop facilitator Ingham, North Queensland.

Kristina is an Ingham local, growing up on her family’s sugar cane farm in Ripple Creek. She is an impressionistic artist and is heavy influenced by the landscape and culture of her youth, drawing from the colours of the sugar cane, open skies and vast mountains.

From her Studio, Five Fountain Studio, Kristina runs weekly classes for Adults and Children and hosts other artists with their workshops and events.
