In You and Me, a mother and daughter face the world side by side—mirrored yet distinct. Rendered in the series’ signature neutral tones, their elongated forms suggest quiet strength, while subtle contrasts—hair colour, expression—hint at the beautiful complexities of their bond. Painted hearts rest gently on their shirts, a symbol of their unbreakable connection: not always aligned, but always tethered at the heart. This piece speaks to love that endures in silence, in difference, in the unspoken threads between generations.

Kristina Fontana is a FIFO wife, mother of three, Artist and Workshop facilitator Ingham, North Queensland.

Kristina is an Ingham local, growing up on her family’s sugar cane farm in Ripple Creek. She is an impressionistic artist and is heavy influenced by the landscape and culture of her youth, drawing from the colours of the sugar cane, open skies and vast mountains.

From her Studio, Five Fountain Studio, Kristina runs weekly classes for Adults and Children and hosts other artists with their workshops and events.
