Artwork Description

“Between Bloom and Breath” is a serene abstract meditation on stillness and becoming. A mist drifts gently over a meadow of flowers, softening form and dissolving edges until color and air feel inseparable. Blush pinks and warm peach tones form the quiet foundation of the field, while veils of violet, ochre and magenta emerge and recede like distant memories. Flecks of gold catch the light subtly, suggesting warmth, presence, and moments just about to unfold.

The composition exists in a suspended moment, neither fully blooming nor fading, where the meadow seems to pause and exhale. The mist acts as both a veil and an embrace, inviting the viewer into a space of calm, intimacy, and quiet attention. Rather than depicting a place, the work evokes a feeling: the gentle interval between movement and rest, where beauty lingers softly, unnamed and unhurried.
The detailed technique used to create this artwork produces a soft textural element which adds depth and intricate details.

Kristine Jambor is an abstract artist whose work celebrates the vibrancy and emotional resonance of colour. Deeply influenced by the lush landscapes of the Northern Rivers, her paintings capture the shifting moods, rhythms, and atmospheres of place through expressive, layered compositions.

Drawing inspiration from the great Expressionist artists, Kristine approaches abstraction as a language of feeling, using colour, mark-making, and texture to evoke the sensory experience of nature rather than its literal form. Each piece becomes a dialogue between the external landscape and the artist’s inner world, translating light, movement, and emotion into visual energy.

Kristine’s practice is a continual exploration of colour’s power to communicate beyond words. Her work represents a vibrant meditation on the beauty and vitality of the Northern Rivers environment.
