“Currents Through Country” an abstract reflection on the enduring relationship between earth, water, sky, and memory. Rich textures and vibrant colour fields echo the diversity and vitality of the landscape, while the flowing network of lines speaks to the interconnectedness of place. Balancing spontaneity with structure, the work invites viewers to explore their own sense of connection to the land and to experience the landscape not as a fixed view, but as a living, ever changing presence.
Bursts of warm red, turquoise, teal, and burnt sienna flow across the canvas, evoking the energy and rhythm of the Australian landscape. Dynamic black lines sweep and swirl throughout the composition, shifting from thick, expressive gestures to delicate, wandering traces. These layered marks create a sense of movement and connection, suggesting unseen pathways, changing terrain, and the natural forces that shape the land over time.
This artwork is an original painting, I use artist grade acrylic paints, and high quality archival satin varnish to produce a beautiful subtle sheen and provide UV protection.
Each artwork has a hanging wire fitted.
The detailed technique used to create this artwork produces a soft textural element which adds depth and intricate details.
