Deep Country is an abstract meditation on the layered character of landscape, where earth, water, sky, and memory converge. Transparent vertical passages of earthy brown, turquoise, and deep blue build a sense of depth and distance, while fine white lines move through the composition like traces of light, distant horizons, or pathways across the land.
The layered colours create an atmospheric landscape that is sensed rather than defined. Forms emerge and recede, suggesting weathered terrain, shifting skies, and the quiet expansiveness of country. The work invites the viewer to look beyond the surface and experience landscape as something both physical and remembered.
This artwork is an original painting, I use artist grade acrylic paints, and high quality archival satin varnish to produce a beautiful subtle sheen and provide UV protection.
Each artwork has a hanging wire fitted.
The detailed technique used to create this artwork produces a soft textural element which adds depth and intricate details.
