Distant Horizons IV is fourth in a series of five abstract paintings inspired by the vastness and quiet intensity of the Australian landscape. Drawing from the subtle shifts of colour found across deserts, coastlines, and open skies, the works reduce the land to its most essential elements, horizon, space, and atmosphere.
Each painting explores minimal composition through carefully balanced fields of colour, where soft earth tones meet sun bleached deep greens, red ochres and dusted gold. The horizons are implied rather than defined, creating a sense of distance and stillness that invites slow looking. Texture is restrained, allowing colour relationships and spatial depth to carry the emotional weight of the work.
Together, the series reflects the experience of standing in an expansive place where time feels suspended capturing not a specific location, but the feeling of Australia’s enduring, open landscapes and the quiet pull of far off horizons.
This artwork is an original painting, I use artist grade acrylic paints, and high quality archival satin varnish to produce a beautiful subtle sheen and provide UV protection.
Each artwork has a hanging wire fitted.
The detailed technique used to create this artwork produces a soft textural element which adds depth and intricate details.
My heart and soul goes into every artwork, it is my passion to bring colour and emotion into the canvas and hope to bring much joy into your surroundings.
The photos although I do my best to capture the true beauty of the artwork, they look more vibrant and stunning in person.
This artwork is set in a solid wood frame, the natural patterns of the wood adds a unique addition to the aesthetics of the frame.
