Artwork Description

“Hidden Past”unfolds like a weathered memory surfacing through time. Soft, muted turquoise drifts across the canvas, evoking distant waters or fading skies once vibrant but now hushed. Beneath it, earthy browns settle like sediment, grounded, steady, carrying the quiet weight of history. Threads of yellow ochre glow subtly from within, suggesting fragments of warmth or forgotten light trying to break through.

A veil of interrupted white wash hovers above it all, thin in places, dense in others, softening edges and blurring certainty. The white does not conceal completely, instead, it fractures the surface, allowing glimpses of what lies beneath. Layers overlap and recede, creating a sense of excavation, as if the painting itself has been gently unearthed.

The composition feels intimate and contemplative, an abstract terrain of memory, erosion, and rediscovery. It speaks in whispers rather than declarations, inviting the viewer to lean closer, to search through the softened layers, and to uncover their own hidden past within its quiet depths.
The detailed technique used to create this artwork produces a soft textural element which adds depth and intricate details.
My heart and soul goes into every artwork, it is my passion to bring colour and emotion into the canvas and hope to bring much joy into your surroundings.
The photos although I do my best to capture the true beauty of the artwork, they look more vibrant and stunning in person.
The sides are fully covered which makes framing optional.

Artist Bio

Kristine Jambor is an abstract artist whose work celebrates the vibrancy and emotional resonance of colour. Deeply influenced by the lush landscapes of the Northern Rivers, her paintings capture the shifting moods, rhythms, and atmospheres of place through expressive, layered compositions.

Drawing inspiration from the great Expressionist artists, Kristine approaches abstraction as a language of feeling, using colour, mark-making, and texture to evoke the sensory experience of nature rather than its literal form. Each piece becomes a dialogue between the external landscape and the artist’s inner world, translating light, movement, and emotion into visual energy.

Kristine’s practice is a continual exploration of colour’s power to communicate beyond words. Her work represents a vibrant meditation on the beauty and vitality of the Northern Rivers environment.
