Resonant Layers is an abstract landscape that explores the depth and atmosphere of place through transparent vertical layers of colour. Burnt sienna and raw umber evoke the warmth and presence of earth, while phthalo turquoise and teal suggest water, distant skies, and shifting horizons. Unexpected passages of magenta bring a subtle sense of energy and transformation, grounded by the depth of black.
The overlapping colours create a sense of looking through successive layers of landscape, where earth, water, atmosphere, and memory become intertwined. Rather than depicting a specific place, the work invites an emotional response to landscape, its quiet expansiveness, changing light, and enduring presence.
This artwork is an original painting, I use artist grade acrylic paints, and high quality archival satin varnish to produce a beautiful subtle sheen and provide UV protection.
Each artwork has a hanging wire fitted.
The detailed technique used to create this artwork produces a soft textural element which adds depth and intricate details.
