“Strata” explores the layered nature of memory, landscape, and time through a rich palette of deep ochre, burnt sienna, cream, and pale blush. Organic linework weaves across the surface, suggesting traces, markings, and fragments of stories embedded within the earth. Flares of paint emerge from the composition like moments of illumination, revealing subtle shifts between concealment and exposure. The layered textures and warm earthy tones evoke geological formations and weathered terrain, inviting contemplation of the forces that shape both the natural world and human experience. Balancing depth with spontaneity, “Strata” reflects the beauty found within accumulation, erosion, and transformation.
This artwork is an original painting, I use artist grade acrylic paints, and high quality archival satin varnish to produce a beautiful subtle sheen and provide UV protection.
Each artwork has a hanging wire fitted.
The detailed technique used to create this artwork produces a soft textural element which adds depth and intricate details.
