“Traverse” explores the experience of moving through the Australian landscape, where pathways, terrain and memory converge. Vertical translucent layers in earthy browns, blush pinks and burnt reds overlap and intersect, suggesting tracks winding through dry country, changing light and shifting terrain.
The layered forms create a sense of movement and depth, with colours emerging and receding like fragments of landscape encountered along a journey. Rather than depicting a specific place, “Traverse” evokes the feeling of travelling through Country, its expansiveness, warmth and quiet complexity.
This artwork is an original painting, I use artist grade acrylic paints, and high quality archival satin varnish to produce a beautiful subtle sheen and provide UV protection.
Each artwork has a hanging wire fitted.
The detailed technique used to create this artwork produces a soft textural element which adds depth and intricate details.
My heart and soul goes into every artwork, it is my passion to bring colour and emotion into the canvas and hope to bring much joy into your surroundings.
