With a sea change and becoming an empty nester I was talking to a work colleague a few years back and heard about this thing called fluid art, it sounded fun and I got to use a blow torch! I found I had quite a 'flare' for it and started very organically getting commissions. From there I drifted into resin, alcohol inks and then textured abstract painting which has become my passion! I absolutely love using textures and creating mixed media pieces for me personally it gives me so much pleasure and I guess added 'playtime' on a canvass to mix it up whether it be adding pastes, gold leaf in some cases, pastels, various techniques with acrylics. Most of the time I put on my headphones and just paint away with no real plan and let the painting unfold. I often take pictures when out for my walks of different things and draw inspirations from these such as fences, power lines, beach, random objects and many of these are reflected by colour or lines in my work.
I have work in a few shops in Mornington and about to launch my giftware range along with my new series of small resin coated abstract landscapes.
Iβve just moved back to Melbourne due to my hubbies work and in the process of looking for studio space.
