Artwork Description

Lookout 3 is an original abstract mixed media on wood and coated with a gorgeous epoxy glass resin finish.

Part of my Mornington Peninsula Walks Series this piece inspired by just as the title states - my adventures around the Mornington Peninsula where I resides. Mark making of various lines, shapes and colours along the way. The piece is not intended to be literal.

I love these wood panels they look great on a plate stand, can be hung or framed. They are perfect size for a gift and easy to wrap and send they are very unlikely to be damaged being wood and resin.

One of my favourite smaller substrates is the wood panel which enables me to make so many different marks and layers that add so much interest - these are enhanced again on the smaller pieces with the epoxy resin glass coating.

Artist Bio

With a sea change and becoming an empty nester I was talking to a work colleague a few years back and heard about this thing called fluid art, it sounded fun and I got to use a blow torch! I found I had quite a 'flare' for it and started very organically getting commissions. From there I drifted into resin, alcohol inks and then textured abstract painting which has become my passion! I absolutely love using textures and creating mixed media pieces for me personally it gives me so much pleasure and I guess added 'playtime' on a canvass to mix it up whether it be adding pastes, gold leaf in some cases, pastels, various techniques with acrylics. Most of the time I put on my headphones and just paint away with no real plan and let the painting unfold. I often take pictures when out for my walks of different things and draw inspirations from these such as fences, power lines, beach, random objects and many of these are reflected by colour or lines in my work.

In November 2025 I opened Dromana Creative Hub & Gallery where I the resident artists and support local artists in exhibiting their work. We also have a workshop program that makes creative workshops available to all.
