Artwork Description

A beautiful original painting capturing the rich colour and atmosphere of a forest in autumn, my favourite season of the year. I love that moment when the seasons turn and autumn arrives again, bringing with it the promise of crisp air, cold days and the quiet beauty of winter to come.
Rich, glowing reds contrast dramatically against the dark tree trunks and soft, snowy white background, while touches of green, blue and yellow bring movement, depth and life to the scene. The strong contrasts and vivid colour give the painting a striking presence, while still capturing the peaceful, almost magical feeling of a forest as the seasons change.
The edges are neatly painted black for a clean, finished look, and the painting arrives completely ready to hang and enjoy.

Artist Bio

Art is an adventure. Every painting begins with an idea, but rarely ends where I expect.
I love the unexpected paths that appear through spontaneous bold marks, vivid colour, and instinct . The process of discovery is as important as the end result.

Growing up surrounded by the rainforests and coastline of the Northern Rivers gave me a lifelong connection to the wild, mysterious energy of nature.
My paintings celebrate this wildness- the movement, growth, vitality, mystery, and possibility. I embrace vigorous line work, strong colour and spontaneous decisions, allowing the energy and journey of the painting to remain visible.
I often leave areas partly unresolved, as though the artwork is still growing, still breathing, still becoming. I love that feeling of energy- and of life continuing beyond the edge of the canvas.

I have always been more of a tidy perfectionist in my art - especially in my Botanical work- which has been valuable and interesting- for refining my art, technique and knowledge.
But I am so enjoying this new expressive freedom in my art- it now feels like my paintings have started running barefoot!!

I hope my paintings invite people to really enjoy their connection with nature- to embrace curiosity, joy, wonder, exploration and discovery 🌊🌿

Thanks for looking at my art
