Artwork Description

A luminous original painting of a forest transformed by the light of the full moon.
This painting captures that magical moment when silvery moonlight spills through the forest, illuminating the trees with vivid colour and an almost otherworldly glow. Flecks of light and spontaneous marks suggest sparkling insects and hidden movement, creating the feeling of a forest alive with energy beneath the moon.
Bold, expressionistic brushwork heightens the sense of movement and intensity, while rich colour brings warmth and vitality to the nocturnal landscape. The result is a joyful celebration of the beauty, mystery and life of the natural world β€” a fleeting moment when an ordinary forest seems suddenly enchanted.
Painted with gallery-quality paints and fully varnished for protection, the artwork has neatly finished black-painted edges, giving it a contemporary framed appearance. It is completely ready to hang and enjoy.

Artist Bio

Art is an adventure. Every painting begins with an idea, but rarely ends where I expect.
I love the unexpected paths that appear through spontaneous bold marks, vivid colour, and instinct . The process of discovery is as important as the end result.

Growing up surrounded by the rainforests and coastline of the Northern Rivers gave me a lifelong connection to the wild, mysterious energy of nature.
My paintings celebrate this wildness- the movement, growth, vitality, mystery, and possibility. I embrace vigorous line work, strong colour and spontaneous decisions, allowing the energy and journey of the painting to remain visible.
I often leave areas partly unresolved, as though the artwork is still growing, still breathing, still becoming. I love that feeling of energy- and of life continuing beyond the edge of the canvas.

I have always been more of a tidy perfectionist in my art - especially in my Botanical work- which has been valuable and interesting- for refining my art, technique and knowledge.
But I am so enjoying this new expressive freedom in my art- it now feels like my paintings have started running barefoot!!

I hope my paintings invite people to really enjoy their connection with nature- to embrace curiosity, joy, wonder, exploration and discovery 🌊🌿

Thanks for looking at my art
