Kristyn Grace Roberts is an artist and interior designer , specialising in bespoke residential interiors .
Kristyn grew up in New Zealand , living on isolated islands in the hauraki gulf, her interest in nature , the ocean and landscapes that feel like home became an early theme in her work . She has lived and worked in 5 different countries, including NZ , UK , USA , Singapore and now happily settled in Brisbane .
Through the use of a gentle introspective visual language, Kristyn’s work is layered with meaning , and includes sinuous shapes and gestural marks that hint at internal landscapes that reference places in time and a sense of connection with self , locating points in memory ,topical maps, rivers weaving and walking tracks are unveiled . Her paintings are often a mixture of acrylic, ink and pencil , with a multilayered ethereal quality , combined with an elegant sense of colour .
Her latest works are distilled interior landscapes , reflecting the tropical scenery and interior shadows surrounding her .
