It's funny how life sometimes nudges us toward unexpected paths. I’ve been at this crossroads for a bit, dabbling in all sorts of subjects, until this morning when an unlikely muse—a vibrant green apple on a rich purple background—helped me find some clarity.
I’ve always been drawn to the texture and the spontaneity of both brushes and palette knives. There’s something incredibly satisfying about the way the paint moves and how layers can tell a story of their own. That green apple, with its crisp curves and bold colour, felt like a perfect subject to explore this technique. It’s simple, yet complex—kind of like life itself.
So, here I am, diving headfirst into the world of small still life. It’s both challenging and liberating to focus on these intimate little scenes. They’re a chance to slow down and savour the details, to appreciate the beauty in everyday objects. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me and how it shapes my art.
