Artwork Description

I have taken so many photographs of these gorgeous birds and painted only a few. I was perusing my photos and came across hundreds that I had taken. Thought it was about time I painted some more. They used to come in droves and feed off the Grevillea and the Agave in my huge rockery in the back yard.

We backed on to the start of the National forest in our area and it was abundant with wildlife. I felt blessed that I could sit and watch all the amazing animals and birds from my balcony.
I adore the colours in these Lorikeets and they are as cheeky as they look.

I just let my head dictate what my hand should do and hence, I came up with a pleasing, abstract type background to place this little bird in whilst he is enjoying the agave flower. Please enjoy.

Artist Bio

I'm Julie, an artist living in beautiful Hervey Bay. My art journey is all about capturing the essence of everyday moments and the wonders of nature that surround us. I find inspiration in the little things – from the way sunlight filters through leaves to the calming rhythm of the ocean waves.

Every painting I create is a piece of my soul and heart laid bare. I don’t plan too much; I just paint what moves me on that particular day. It’s a very personal process, and I paint primarily for myself, but knowing that my work has found homes around the world is a feeling like no other.

I love that my pieces resonate with others and bring a touch of Hervey Bay’s beauty and my own perspective into their lives. So, welcome to my world – I hope you find a bit of your own story in my art.
