Artwork Description

Despite the frequent appearance of these 'proteas' in so-called "native" flower arrangements, they are not Australian plants. They are native to South Africa. The genus Protea has given its name to a family of related plants (the Proteaceae) and there are are a number of Australian members of this "Protea family". I always thought this was native Aussie flora but no! Never mind, it's still so beautiful and I loved painting this little one in an impressionistic style.

Artist Bio

I'm Julie, an artist living in beautiful Hervey Bay. My art journey is all about capturing the essence of everyday moments and the wonders of nature that surround us. I find inspiration in the little things – from the way sunlight filters through leaves to the calming rhythm of the ocean waves.

Every painting I create is a piece of my soul and heart laid bare. I don’t plan too much; I just paint what moves me on that particular day. It’s a very personal process, and I paint primarily for myself, but knowing that my work has found homes around the world is a feeling like no other.

I love that my pieces resonate with others and bring a touch of Hervey Bay’s beauty and my own perspective into their lives. So, welcome to my world – I hope you find a bit of your own story in my art.
