Artwork Description

I seem to have an enduring love affair with black and white. My paintings lately, are all about capturing the timeless beauty of cliffs, those magnificent natural sculptures that rise against the horizon. There's something so powerful and raw about their form—it's like they hold stories of the earth’s history.

I mostly work with a palette knife, which gives my art that textured, almost tactile feel. I love how it allows me to build layers and layers, creating depth and movement. Each stroke is like a dance, bringing the cliffs to life on canvas. Working in monochrome lets me focus on contrasts and shadows—it's amazing how much emotion you can evoke with just two colours!

When people see my work, I hope they feel a connection to the landscapes and maybe even find a sense of peace in their rugged beauty. My art is really about celebrating the natural world and finding harmony in its simplicity.

Artist Bio

I'm Julie, an artist living in beautiful Hervey Bay. My art journey is all about capturing the essence of everyday moments and the wonders of nature that surround us. I find inspiration in the little things – from the way sunlight filters through leaves to the calming rhythm of the ocean waves.

Every painting I create is a piece of my soul and heart laid bare. I don’t plan too much; I just paint what moves me on that particular day. It’s a very personal process, and I paint primarily for myself, but knowing that my work has found homes around the world is a feeling like no other.

I love that my pieces resonate with others and bring a touch of Hervey Bay’s beauty and my own perspective into their lives. So, welcome to my world – I hope you find a bit of your own story in my art.
