Pickle Jar

In this piece I worked to soften and blur lines and allowing border to meld organically. I hoped to create a hazy, dream-like effect akin to viewing something through frosted glass.

In creating this work I experimented with the border, using spring-time colours to create a confetti border, creating a sense of play in the border that mirrors the playful green grass/ blue sky background of the still life.

The subject matter of this piece makes it best suited to a kitchen or dining room setting.

Krystyna’s work often explores the theme of personal space, dreams, inner monologues and home. Her paintings could be described as still life merging with dream-scapes. She combines subject matter from recorded memories to create snapshots of life. Her current interests focus on specific feelings of daily life, such as standing around the kitchen bench on a Saturday morning or drinking a coffee in the backyard.
