Free falling

This artwork was inspired by multiple events in my life that symbolised letting go. I started off with an under drawing to layout where the figure was going to be on the painting then I started painting from the background to the foreground. This painting includes bright vibrant colours as well as dark colours to create a hierarchy as well as a contrast between the figure and the background. I have also used tone to create dimension. Colours that have been used are series of greens, blues and browns.

I have been making art as an hobby for the last 6 years, I usually work with oil and acrylic paints as well as pencils. I am a self taught artist and haven’t had any formal training in making art.
The reason behind me starting to make art was a way of expressing my self aswell as a form of therapy. I don’t really have a certain subject matter that I focus on, but usually tend to stay in the realistic to surrealist forms of art. I enjoy experimenting with different techniques and different art mediums to create different outcomes in my artwork.
I am inspired by wildlife and events that take place in my life. My hopes for the future are to develope on my artistic skills, and to try out different types of materials such as soft pastels.
