Artwork Description

The Front Yard is a celebration of days gone by when we enjoyed the simple things such as playing in the front yard and watching the world go by.
Using sepia Archival ink pen and Paynes grey ink wash I tried to capture the feeling of an old fading photograph.

Following a long family line of artists Jo-Anne has always drawn and studied art. A self taught fibre artist for more than 40 years Jo-Anne started spinning at 12. Her slow fashion, artist bears and handspun yarn has been sold in Australia and over the seas. A complex weaver with her drafts being used by weavers from many countries and her work being sold around Australia including to the Australian Museum in Canberra.
Her relief printing is highly commended and her oil paintings are in private collections world wide.
Drawing, painting, spinning and her slow fashion now occupy her time. Working from her studio, located at “Dudal Comer Cottage”, Jo-Anne creates sustainable fashion, yarns, paints and works of art created with pigment & acrylic mediums.
