ANCIENT GROUND by Kylie Daniel
This piece feels like standing at the edge of something that’s been here long before us.
The land is heavy, textured, almost carved out over time — like an old rock canyon shaped slowly by wind, water, and heat. The darker forms sit like ancient stone, worn down but still holding their presence, while the soft, open sky above gives a sense of stillness… like everything has finally come to rest.
There’s a feeling that something once moved through here — water, life, maybe even a path — but now it’s quiet. What’s left is the memory of it, held in the layers of the earth.
It invites you to pause and imagine what this place might have been… and to feel the weight of time in the ground beneath it.
