"Distant Mountain Range" by Kylie Daniel.
In this piece, I tried to capture the vast, serene expanse of the Australian outback at dusk.
Continuing with my recognised style and colour palette, this artwork is defined by sprawling stretches of flat, earthy brown land in the foreground, interrupted only by rugged, black rocky areas.
A subtle, winding stream of white water cuts through the scene in the foreground of the piece. Its delicate flow contrasting against the dry, open space.
Above, the sky is tinged with soft pink hues, suggesting the quiet moments of twilight as the sun sets behind distant mountain peaks.
I wanted to create a sense of absolute stillness whilst still showing movement with the water slight running.
Isolation is key in this artwork, and once again, I wanted to portray timeless beauty, inviting the viewer to reflect on the stunning landscapes of the Australian Outback.
Artwork will come framed in Australian Hardwood to really capture and compliment the colours of the landscape.
