Artwork Description

Part of my Australian Outback Collection, Outback Stone explores the raw physicality of arid country during long seasons of drought.

This mixed media abstracted landscape focuses on the land itself — hardened, weathered and stripped back to its elemental form. Thick, layered textures echo dry, fractured terrain, while deep black formations suggest ancient rock embedded within the earth. Above, a softened horizon carries the quiet haze of distance — that familiar Outback stillness where heat hangs in the air and time feels suspended.

There is no movement here. No vegetation. No distraction.

Only stone.
Only land.

The dark lower band anchors the piece with weight and permanence, while the pale sky offers breath — a subtle reminder of the vastness that defines Australian country.

Outback Stone is not about harshness. It is about endurance.
It honours the strength of land that survives long dry seasons, shaped by climate, time and quiet resilience.

Beautifully finished off with a hand made custom timber shadow box frame, this small artwork is heavily textured and packs that Kylie Daniel artwork punch.

There is no better example of my work than this stunning artwork which I would go as far as to say, is one of my very best artworks.
