Artwork Description

Acrylic on paper

Signed certificate of authenticity.

Painted with quality acrylic paints on 400gsm mixed media art paper. Paper size is A3 (29.7 x 42) and the painted area is 27.0 x 38.8 inside a white border (see images that show the paper edge).

'Everything is Meant to be Broken' is a piece about the beauty of imperfection and the idea that being flawed is part of being human. I often paint flowers motifs into my work and over time I have come to see these as representations of human life. And human life is messy, full of light and shade, things hidden and things revealed. Ernest Hemingway said 'We are all broken. That's how the light gets in.' This piece is about the light that comes through.

Painting is unframed. Images show how it might look framed behind glass with a white matt. Bluethumb framing in black, white or wood can be added at checkout. Personally I think a thin gold frame would be perfect for this one.

This painting is signed on the front and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
