Style 2551 is an abstract mixed media piece painted with a teal/chocolate/cream palette. This piece was created using many layers of collage (it started with a sewing pattern from the 70s). Many layers of acrylics were added on top along with mark marking and gold leaf.
The initial layers were ultimately covered up in the creative process with just a hint of the pattern still showing (look closely and you will still see a glimpse.)
I am hooked on the intuitive process of painting, each layer revealing something different and unique from the last and each leading the way to the next layer. I don't limit myself to one colour palette and prefer a spontaneous and colourful approach to each of my paintings.
